Start the TEC till. The Gold Till Screen will load automatically. To Exit this enter 329654 and press Cash.
This should take you back to the desk top screen. Failing that plug in a keyboard and use task manager.
Remove the Gold software from the Start Up Menu and from the C:\ drive. Just delete the folder called JGTouch. Next create the default user account.
This is done via Control Panel. Create a new account called “paypoint”, the password should be “paypoint100”
The till needs to be named. This is done via Control Panel, System. Select the “Computer Name” tab, press the “Change” button and edit the details. The computer name should take the form of [SHOP NAME] TILL NUMBER. EG KIDDERMINSTER TILL 1
Don’t forget to change the machine name too.
This should take the form of the store number. EG JG0212-1
Copy over the JGV602 Directory. Right click and allow sharing and changes to files, under Properties click permissions to allow Full Control.
Go to:
TOOLS
FOLDER OPTIONS
VIEW tab Unclick
USE SIMPLE FILE SHARING
Under Properties click permissions to allow Full Control.
In the directory C:\JGV602\Misc if you right click and open up the file and find the following two lines that need editing.
Line 5 “DefaultDomainName”=”JG0212-1”
Line 34 “AltDefaultDomainName”=”JG0212-1”
Both these need to be edited to include the relevant shop and till name. This is so the till automatically connects to the router and the network.
Now you need to copy over the auto reg file by double tapping on it and pressing OK.
Identify the till as either IBM or TEC.
Go to C:\JGV602 and take out the underscore from IBM.TX_ to rename it IBM.TXT
Restart the till
In Control panel sort out the display / Screen saver settings then use the Tools menu then File Options. Un-tick “Use simple file sharing” at the bottom using the View Tab.
To set up the till to allow remote desktop access, click on System, the Remote Tab and tick both boxes. Press select remote users and Add. The only user should be Paypoint.
Make sure all the boxes are ticked allowing full control.
Turn off Automatic Updates using the Tab of the same name.
Switch off the fire wall.
Uncheck the way Security Centre alerts you.
Double click on ELO icon in Control Panel. Set the touch screen software up as Mouse emulation and beep on touch.
To edit the network address, use my network places and edit the connection with the following settings. They should always take the following format.
IP address 10. x .xxx .x This is the IP address for the till.
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 10. x .xxx .254 This is the IP address for the router.
In the back office set up the address and warehouse number so the sales go to the correct depot.
